Okoli Picks Penn State

Virginia defensive lineman becomes the 21st member of the Nittany Lions' Class of 2007. Okoli visited Happy Valley last weekend and commited to PSU Friday morning. He had also been considering Virginia Tech and Clemson.

Virginia Beach, Va., defensive lineman Chimaeze Okoli took a visit to Penn State last weekend. On Friday, he informed the PSU staff that we wanted to become a Nittany Lion.

"I committed to Penn State," Okoli told FOS recruiting reporter Cory James. "I called Coach [Bill] Kenney and Coach [Joe] Paterno this morning. They were real excited and told me how much they wanted me, which was important because you want to go where you are wanted."

Okoli had narrowed his list to Virginia Tech and Penn State, and he was still considering Clemson earlier this week. But the 6-foot-5, 275-pounder opted to end his recruitment rather than visit the Tigers this weekend.

He is the 21st member of Penn State's Class of 2007.

Stay tuned for more on Okoli.
