Lions Throttled by Wisconsin

Penn State's frustrating season continued at third-ranked Wisconsin Saturday, as the Nittany Lions were blown out 75-49 for their 11th-straight loss. PSU fell to 10-15 overall and 1-11 in the Big Ten with the defeat.

Penn State played sloppy ball in the first half (12 turnovers) but was within striking distance at the break (36-25) after holding national Player of the Year candidate Alando Tucker to five points.

But Tucker caught fire in the second half, leading a 10-0 run midway through the period as the Badgers led by as many as 27 (68-41). He finished with a game high 22 points and received scoring help from guard Kammron Taylor (18 points). As a team, UW (26-1, 12-1) hit a season-high 12 3-pointers.

Geary Claxton led the Penn State with 15 points and six rebounds, and Jamelle Cornley added a dozen points and four boards.

The Nittany Lions are at No. 2 Ohio State Wednesday, their third straight game against a top-three opponent. With No. 1 Florida losing Saturday, the Buckeyes are likely to move into the top spot when the next polls are released.
