Name: Chase Anastasio
Position: DB, WR
Height: 6'2"
Weight: 195 pounds
40-yard dash: 4.45
Bench Press: 250 pounds
School: Robinson Secondary, Fairfax, VA

Last season, Chase had 87 carries for 528 yards and 8 touchdowns, and 13 catches for 213 yards and 5 touchdowns.  Defensively, he had 87 tackles and 4 interceptions.

"I played running back, cornerback and a little free safety last year," Chase said.  "I'm mostly being recruited as a defensive back, but a couple of schools are looking at me at wide-receiver.

"Over 10 have offered, I want to say 13 or 14.  Maryland, Virginia, Virginia Tech, Penn State, Stanford, Notre Dame, Ohio State, Syracuse, North Carolina, North Carolina State, Colorado and Wake Forest have offered.

"Unofficially, I've been to Penn State, Virginia and Virginia Tech.

"Location doesn't really matter to me.

"Right now I think Virginia, Notre Dame, Stanford, Penn State and Ohio State are my favorites.

"Virginia is mostly looking at me as a free safety, but they said I could also try to play some wide-receiver.  Notre Dame is just defensive back and Stanford is looking at me both ways too.  The other schools (PSU and OSU) are just looking at me defensively."

Anastasio has already begun planning some visits.

"I know I'm taking an official to Notre Dame.  My parents want to fly me out to Stanford.  I'm going to take my official to Virginia and I don't know about Ohio State or Penn State."

No date is yet set for the official visit to Notre Dame.

Chase attended a junior day at Penn State back in Februrary with teammates John Kinzer and Blake Shubert.

"I like the coaching staff there and from what I hear about the academics, you graduate from there and you're pretty much set.  I like the campus itself and it just seems like a nice school."

According to Chase, the Nittany Lions have given him a written scholarship offer.

"They started recruiting me after our season ended and they thought I was a little too small, but then I put on like 20 pounds and they became real interested.  That's when they offered me."
