Gray Taking His Time

Beverly Hills, Mich., running back Jonas Gray has been gaining a lot of interest from schools around the country in recent weeks, even picking up a few big offers of late. The 5-foot-11, 214-pounder from Detroit Country Day High has already pulled in offers from Michigan State, Florida, Minnesota, Illinois and Colorado thus far with more surely on the way. But is Penn State in the picture?

Jonas Gray had previously mentioned that PSU was among his top five or six programs.

“I really haven't talked to Penn State yet,” Gray said. “They are a school that I really like what they have done in the running game. I know Tony Hunt left them this year and their depth chart is pretty favorable, so they are definitely one of the top schools that I want to look at.”

Penn State may be a bit late getting in contact with Gray, but that does not appear to have an impact on his thoughts on the Nittany Lions.

“I know that it is early,” Gray said. “Things are starting to pick up lately, but I know once I start getting around to the combines and camps schools will have more to look at on me.”

Gray indicated that while it is early, he would list a top two for right now.

“I would probably have to say that Florida and Michigan State are my top two of the schools that have offered,” Gray said.

Look for more on Gray as he makes his tour around to camps and combines this spring. No definite dates were set as of yet, but Gray will do his best to see who he can.

“I have track this spring so I will have to work around that, but I do want to see some schools this spring,” Gray said.
