Jr. Prospects Visit PSU

Saturday was a busy day for the Penn State coaches; not only were they running the second session of spring practice, which kicked off Friday, but they also hosted a variety of Class of 2008 juniors visiting PSU to see what the Nittany Lions had to offer. Get an update on the junior day event.

Penn State hosted upwards of 20 junior prospects from the Class of 2008 who visited the campus and took in spring practice drills, toured the facilties, met some players, spoke with the coaches and got a general feel for what PSU has to offer.

The PSU staff has generally taken a focused, small group approach to their junior day events. Unlike some other schools who invite upwards of several hundred juniors to their events, the Nittany lion coaches feel the smaller groups allow them to provide more individualized attention to the visitors.

So far we have confirmed that the following players attended Saturday's event. We will update this story as more names come into FOS.

A.J. Alexander, ATH, Altoona, Pa.
Julian Harrell, WR, Harrisburg, Pa.
Chris Henderson, DT, Harrisburg, Pa.
Mike Jones, RB, Harrisburg, Pa.
Dan McCarthy, S, Youngstown, Pa.
DeJuan Miller, WR, Metuchen, N.J.
Deion Walker, WR, Christchurch, Va.
Michael Zordich, LB, Youngstown, Oh.

Mark Wedderburn a tight end from Springfield, Pa. was also expected to visit PSU for the event, but we are still working to verify their attendance, along with the other junior players who participated.

Stay tuned to FOS for further updates on PSU's Class of 2008 recruiting efforts.
