"I plan to go to Penn State - Nebraska this weekend," Rodney said.
He and his parents will drive up from South Carolina for the unofficial visit.
"We'll probably leave Friday night after my game. I have to be back for practice at 2:00 on Sunday too."
Like linebacker prospect Ryan Brown, Kinta Palmer's cousin who will be making a similar trip from South Carolina to Penn State this weekend, Rodney knows Penn State wide-receiver Kinta Palmer.
"Kinta told me [Ryan was going to PSU this weekend]. Kinta used to talk to my sister and he's real good friends with my parents, my family. I talked to him last night."
Several schools have called this month to talk to the young, talented running back.
"I got calls from Bill Kenney, the coach from North Carolina State, Wake Forest, Clemson, I can't remember all of them. I wasn't home when Bill Kenney called."
Kinlaw, the nephew of Penn State great Courtney Brown, has a scholarship offer from Penn State and 6 others. He lists the Nittany Lions among his favorites.
"My favorites are probably Penn State, Virginia Tech, Clemson, Northwestern and North Carolina State.
"I haven't gone to any other games yet. I'm thinking of going to Wake Forest for the game against Florida State. I plan to visit Virginia Tech also for one of their games.
"I probably won't decide on my official visits until after football season."
Kinlaw is being recruited to play running back. His team is currently 2-0 this season.
"So far I have 36 carries for 377 yards and 6 touchdowns."
What does he like about Penn State?
"I like the environment and the coaching staff and everything."
