Ira Guilford claims "about 25" scholarship offers from teams recruiting him to either play safety or running back in college.  Ira had planned to attend the Penn State game this past weekend verses Nebraska.

"I wasn't able to go," Ira said.  "I had to stay home and get treatment on my leg
for a minor injury."

Since the game was nationally televised, he was able to watch it on TV.

"I was impressed.  I thought they played very well."

Coach Ganter is recruiting him for Penn State.

"I've been to Penn State.  I went there in the summer (recruiting day).  I liked it a lot.  They have great facilities and good tradition.  It's a very nice school."

Guilford listed 6 teams in which he is currently most interested.

"Ohio State, Penn State, Notre Dame, Syracuse, Michigan State and Maryland
are the top few."

Right now, Ohio State is his favorite and Michigan State is second.

"I really like the tradition of Ohio State, the facilities and the coaches.  I've been out there to see it  for myself and I really like it."

He has also been to Syracuse.

"I have one official visit set up.  It will be to Michigan State on December 14.  I'll definitely visit Ohio State, Notre Dame, probably Syracuse and Penn State too."
