Zordich Commits to Lions

FightOnState.com has learned from multiple Scout.com sources that Penn State picked up its second commitment for the Class of 2008, this one from Ohio linebacker Michael Zordich, who had earlier trimmed his list to Ohio State and the Nittany Lions.

Michael Zordich made the trek to Penn State today for a visit with the Nittany Lions staff during which time he committed to PSU according to multiple Scout.com sources contacted by Bob Lichtenfels, Greg Powers and Cory James.

Earlier this week Zorich talked about PSU, saying, "Penn State is a program I've been around my whole life, with my dad having played there. Penn State is a great school and I think Joe Paterno is awesome and one of the greatest coaches in history. Coach Bradley, the defensive coordinator, is a great coach too. I just like the tradition that they have and they always play great defense. Penn State is just a great school and a great program."

When reached for comment today by FOS, Zordich declined comment because he was in the middle of his visit, but indicated he would address the matter this weekend.

Zordich's final decision came down between Ohio State and Penn State.

Zordich's father, also named Michael, was a multiple-year letterman for the Lions (1982-85) as a defensive back before embarking on a long NFL career with the Jets, Cardinals and Eagles. -30-
