On the magazine side, FOS was honored for having the Best Overall Magazine and Best Special Issue (a 20th anniversary commemorative looking back at the Nittany Lions' 1986 football national championship).
In the online categories, FightOnState.com received first-place hardware for Online Subscription Growth, Paid Circulation Growth and Most New Registered Members.

Knowing the quality of work being done at so many sites and magazines on the Scout network, we can't be anything other than humbled by this recognition, said Mark Brennan, editor and co-publisher of Fight On State. The cool thing about these awards is they not only reflect positively on the tireless work of our staff, but also indicate that we are being embraced by the Penn State athletics community.
FightOnState.com was unveiled in December of 2004, when Brennan, then a 16-year veteran of the Penn State football beat, joined forces with the publishers of the popular website PSU Playbook. They did so under the Scout.com umbrella, and since then have consistently been among the network leaders in paid subscription growth and registered user growth.
Fight On State The Magazine was unveiled in March of 2005. Printed 10 times per year in a glossy, color format, it has been lauded for its quality of writing, outstanding photography and professional design.
The Scout.com network consists of more than 200 websites focusing on college and professional sports programs. It is the most read online independent sports publisher in the country with more than 250 million page views per month.
Part of the Fox Interactive Media family, Scout also produces 50 glossy magazines offering team-specific coverage of major college football programs, NFL teams and major-league baseball teams.
