Open Field For Alexander?

Altoona, Pa., receiver/running back A.J. Alexander has spent the past few months pondering his commitment to Florida State. At last check, Alexander stated that he was still being recruited strongly by Tennessee, Virginia Tech and Penn State. Find out what Alexander's plans are after taking a step back to evaluate things.

Altoona, Pa., receiver/running back A.J. Alexander verbally committed to Florida State in late May, but he had been quietly opening the door for other schools to get back in the race.

Now that we are approaching mid-July, Alexander has kicked the door wide open. FOS broke the news in our Premium Chat Thursday night.

“I actually de-committed from Florida State,” Alexander said. “It isn't that I don't like Florida State still, I just feel like I committed too early.

“I was talking with my mom about how I felt really excited about every school right after my visit and maybe that was the case with Florida State,” he added. “I just wanted to get it all over with but now I'm not so sure.”

Alexander has re-opened his recruitment to five schools, which he will take official visits to in the fall.

“I am basically at five schools right now,” Alexander said. “I will take official visits to Florida State, Penn State, Virginia Tech, Tennessee and West Virginia.”

Stay tuned to for more information on the dates of Alexander's official visits and the eventual commitment of the Pennsylvania star athlete.
