Pannell Picks Penn State

The Penn State football team is holding its Media Day Saturday. But that doesn't mean all of the news will have to wait until then. Early Friday evening, the Nittany Lions received a verbal commitment from Michigan offensive line prospect Deon'tae Pannell.

The 6-foot-5, 300-pounder was also considering offers from Michigan and Michigan State.

I talked to Coach [Ron] Vanderlinden and Coach [Joe] Paterno at 7:30 tonight and they were excited," Pannell said.

A three-star prospect, Pannell hails from Wylie E. Groves High in Beverly Hills, Mich.
