Shaw The Newest Lion

Ohio running back is the second prospect to commit to Penn State in as many days. The product of Trotwood-Madison High announced for the Nittany Lions at a Saturday evening press conference.

Michael Shaw, a running back from Trotwood-Madison High in Trotwood, Ohio, announced Saturday evening that he intends to sign with Penn State next February.

Madison was being recruited by a host of school but in recent weeks appeared to be focusing on the Nittany Lions and Michigan.

He made the announcement at a press conference in his hometown in which he was flanked by his mom and dad. Shaw had four hats — from Penn State, Michigan, Tennesssee and West Virginia — and eventually pulled on the one from PSU. He said he picked Penn State because he felt most comfortable with the school from an athletic and academic standpoint.

The 6-foot, 187-pounder is the seventh player to commit for PSU's Class of 2008. He is also the second running back, joining fellow Ohio standout Brandon Beachum. Stayed tuned to for more on Shaw.
