Jones' Top Ten List

Mike Jones, currently rated by as the #9 offensive lineman prospect in the country, lists his top 10 and talks about his interest level in Penn State.

Name: Mike Jones
Position: OL
Height: 6'5"
Weight: 307 pounds
40-yard dash: 5.1
Bench Press: 370 pounds
School: H L Richards HS, Oak Lawn, IL

Mike primarily plays offensive tackle in high school although he does play some defensive tackle as well.  He is being recruited by many schools to play on the offensive line at either the guard or tackle position.

Jones claims 19 scholarship offers and is seriously looking at 10 of those schools.

"I kind of have a top ten list right now: Michigan, Iowa, Penn State, Wisconsin, Tennessee, Miami, Notre Dame, Nebraska, Colorado and Oklahoma.

"There's no clear cut favorite right now.  What I'm going to do is listen to most schools right now.  That top 10 list could be interchangeable.  I'll schedule official  visits in late October, early November and after all 5 visits, I'll take it from there and make the best decision."

According to Mike, all of the above schools have offered him a scholarship.

"I've been to Notre Dame, Michigan, Iowa, Tennessee and Wisconsin."

Distance to a prospective school is not a concern for Jones.

"One thing I've already said is that I'm going to the best college no matter where that is."

What is his definition of "the best college"?

"First off, it has to be the right fit for me which is hard to explain, but I'll know it when I feel it.   Also, [I'm looking for] a coach I believe I can work with for 4 or 5 years and a program that I think can win and help take me to the next level."
