Freeman Anxious For Happy Valley Visit

South Carolina standout will be in for the Penn State-Notre Dame game this weekend. What is he looking for in a school? Who else is he considering? And when will he be arriving and leaving?

Pelion, S.C., offensive lineman Dalton Freeman is starting to find his groove on the field and in the recruiting game. The 6-foot-6, 270-pound product of Pelion High holds 25 scholarship offers thus far, including Florida, Florida State, Penn State, Clemson, Georgia, Virginia Tech, Colorado, Georgia Tech and Tennessee.

Dalton Freeman has been quietly taking in the recruiting process up to this point, but things will be picking up starting this weekend.

“I will be going up to Penn State this weekend for an official visit to see them play Notre Dame,” Freeman said. “I have a game Friday night and then I fly out Saturday morning and will spend all day Saturday and Sunday at Penn State before leaving Monday morning.”

Freeman has not set up any additional official visits to this point but he has some destinations in mind.

“I haven't narrowed my list of schools down yet, but that is something that I will be doing soon after I see more of some schools,” Freeman said. “I am probably going to take official visits to Florida, Florida State, Clemson and Colorado in addition to Penn State, but that is not set yet.”

Freeman's checklist for his potential university of choice spares no detail.

“I am looking for a place that I fit in with the coaching style, coaches and players,” Freeman said. “I really want a big-time program where I can win and still get a good education so that I can still have a successful future if the NFL is not in my future.”

Freeman is hoping to major in sports broadcasting with aspirations on commentating on ESPN, rather than playing on ESPN, as he expects to be doing until his football career ends.

Look for more on Freeman following his visit this weekend to Penn State and in the near future as he sets up further official visits and narrows his list.
