Celina, Texas, defensive back D'Anton Lynn made a return trip to Penn State last weekend, this time on an official visit with his family. Lynn was hosted by Lion freshman defensive back Chaz Powell and stayed with Virginia wide receiver Deion Walker, who was also up for an official visit.

“Penn State was great,” Lynn said. “I got up there around 1 p.m. on Saturday and took a tour of the campus and the football facility again. I also spoke with one of the academics' people again. After that we all went up to eat before the game.

“Coach [Mike] McQueary took us out to show us the student section, which was pretty cool,” Lynn added. “The fans were so aware of who we all were and were yelling my name and stuff, it was pretty cool. Then we watched the game and the atmosphere was crazy. It showed how much they support the team up there.

“After the game we went out and hung out with all of the players along with Chaz Powell, who was my host,” Lynn continued. “We had breakfast, lunch and dinner with the coaching staff on Sunday. It was a really good visit.”

Lynn did not commit on his visit, but the trip gave him a good idea of where Penn State stands.

“I would say the visit really improved Penn State on my list,” Lynn said. “I like Penn State along with USC, Nebraska, Florida and Texas Tech.”

Lynn does not have a firm timetable for a decision, but he intends to make it fairly soon.

“I plan on making my decision before the season is over for sure,” Lynn said. “I don't have any more visits set up yet, but I'd like to take one or two before I decide. I don't know which schools I would go visit yet, but I would like to go on some more.”

Look for more from Lynn in the coming weeks to find out if he sets up more official visits or makes a verbal commitment.
