Scott Out vs. Iowa

Penn State senior tailback will not dress for Saturday's game. His future with the program is uncertain.

As we reported in the forums Friday, Penn State senior tailback Austin Scott will not play against Iowa Saturday.

Penn State made it official in the press box an hour or so before kickoff, when officials said Scott would not play against the Hawkeyes "due to an unspecified violation of team rules."

FOS has also learned that at a hastily called squad meeting Friday, head coach Joe Paterno informed the rest of the Nittany Lions that Scott is no longer a member of the team. Multiple sources confirmed Paterno's comments at the squad meeting.

Scott split first-team carries with classmate Rodney Kinlaw through the first five games this season. He is the Lions' second leading rusher with 302 yards on 69 carries. He also leads PSU in touchdowns with six.

Stay tuned to for more on this situation as it develops.
