OFFENSE: The Lions had 221 yards rushing and 216 yards passing. What's not to like about that? And only one turnover from this unit this week.
DEFENSE: Penn State bent a bit but never broke. We're nit-picking here, but these guys continue to run into each other -- literally this game -- when they have a chance to put points on the board.
SPECIAL TEAMS: Fortunately for the Lions the mistakes (Derrick Williams' fumble, Kevin Kelly's missed field goal, Jeremy Boone's flubbed punt) were made when the game was basically in hand. Have to tighten things up from here on out, though.
COACHING: This could not have been an easy week to be on the Penn State staff. Kudos to everyone from Joe Paterno on down for keeping the Lions focused on the task at hand.
INTANGIBLES: Likewise, a tip of the cap to the players for using the tumultuous week as a reason to rally together rather than tearing apart.
OTHER GUY: We got the sense the Badgers were not ready for the buzz-saw they encountered in Beaver Stadium. We liked the grit of Tyler Donovan, though.
OFFICIALS: From the backhanded compliment department, nothing awful jumped out at us.
CROWD: Not as wild as some groups we've seen at Beaver Stadium. Then again, it didn't have to be.
