Connor in Hunt for Major Honors

Penn State's Dan Connor has been named a semifinalist for both the Butkus Award (given to the nation's top linebacker) and the Lombardi Award (presented to the nation's top lineman or linebacker).

The Butkus Award

Connor is one of 10 semifinalists for the Butkus Award, given to the nation's top linebacker. The other semi-finalists include:

Erin Henderson of Maryland
Ali Highsmith of LSU
James Laurinaitis of Ohio State
J. Leman of Illinois
Ben Moffitt of South Florida

Three finalists for the honor will be selected on November 9 and the winner will be announced in December.

The Lombardi Award

The Lombardi Award named Connor as one of 12 semi-finalists for the award honoring the nation's best lineman or linebacker. The other semi-finalists include:
