Speedster Names Favorite

Brad Mueller, a lightning fast athlete from the Pittsburgh area who has a few Big 10 scholarship offers, names his current favorite. How interested are the Nittany Lions?

Name: Brad Mueller
Position: CB
Height: 6'0"
Weight: 175 pounds
40-yard dash: 4.31
School: Mars Area SHS, Mars, PA

Brad Mueller (pronounced MULE-er) plays free-safety and tailback for Mars Area Senior High School, but is being recruited to play cornerback in college. His best asset is his blazing speed. He ran the 40-yard dash in 4.31 seconds at the Penn State Nike Camp this year and later ran it in 4.27 seconds at Joe Butler's Metro Index football camp.

"I have 1,050 yards and 11 touchdowns," Brad said.  "I think I have about 120 carries and am averaging something like 7.6 yards a carry.

"I had a real big game last game.  I had 400 rushing yards and 7 touchdowns against Apollo-Ridge."

So far, four schools have stepped up and offered a scholarship to the lightning fast defensive back.

"I have offers from Boston College, Wisconsin, Duke and Purdue."

Brad also singled out Maryland and Michigan State as a few of the many other schools interested.

Brad has not heard much from either Pitt or Penn State.

"I get sent mail, but they don't call me or anything."

Mueller has taken just one visit so far, and official visit to Boston College.  The Eagles are his current favorite.

"That was about 4 weeks ago, the week they played Stanford.  I just really liked it when I went there.  I liked everything about the campus and about their team.  I like the coaches a lot."

He does not have any other visits scheduled yet.

"I'm waiting until the season's over to see what schools are going to come.  From there, I'll decide where I'm going to take the rest of my official visits."

Brad stated that he has already met the NCAA academic eligibility requirements.
