Bowl Media Day Notes

Due to an ice storm in central Pennsylvania today the turnout to today's PSU Bowl Media Day at Lasch Building was very limited. Get some news and notes from today's event right here.

Here are some notes of interest around Thursday's Bowl Media Day at Penn State's Lasch Building:

  • Corner Justin King confirmed that he has submitted paperwork for NFL draft. He is not sure when he will actually make up his mind whether he will declare for the draft, but he indicated that he has some people he will confide in aside from his family to help make up his mind in the coming weeks.

  • Junior linebacker Sean Lee also said he also submitted paperwork for the NFL draft, however, he told FOS that he only made the submission for the evaluation portion of his skills to get an idea of what he needs to do to improve in the coming season. He said he will be back in 2008.

  • Senior captain Anthony Morelli did not show up for the event.

  • Joe Paterno said Chris Baker, Knowledge Timmons and Navorro Bowman are all making the trip to the Alamo Bowl, but he would not say if they are going to play. FOS sources have told us that all three are unlikely to play in the game.

  • Jordan Norwood said that he was happy for his father's (Brian Norwood) move to Baylor. Coach Norwood is already down at Baylor, but will be at the Alamo Bowl as a regular fan to root on the Lions.

  • Deon Butler was conducting reporter interviews of different players for the Penn State Football Story bowl preview show during the event, talking to players like Sean Lee.

  • Paterno said he would be surprised if Jared Odrick or Jerome Hayes are able to do much in spring practice this coming March.
