Height: 6'1"
Weight: 185 pounds
40-yard dash: 4.22 ("My fastest time was 4.22 at Ohio State's camp.")
School: Gilman School, Baltimore, MD

Ambrose is an immensely talented athlete that plays a variety of positions for Gilman.  He is currently ranked as the 12th best cornerback prospect in the country by  Although he primarily plays quarterback on offense, he also occassionally plays tailback and wide-receiver.  On defense, he plays safety and cornerback.

"I'm over 2,000 total yards," Ambrose said.  "I have 1,300 yards rushing, around 900 passing and 27 touchdowns total."

Wooden estimated that he has between 20 and 25 scholarship offers from schools recruiting him as an athlete.

He has, however, narrowed his list down to 7 schools.

"Stanford, Penn State, Notre Dame, UCLA, Boston College, Virginia Tech and USC (Southern Cal), that's probably it."

He denies having a favorite although he is apparently very interested in the Fighting Irish.

"They're probably in my top 2, if I had to choose.  I don't know [who the other would be], I'm just saying that they're probably one of my top teams."

Which of those schools has he visited?

"None yet, I'm waiting until after the season.  Our season ends early (11/9).  We're 8-0.  Our goal is to win our league and beat our rival.  We're looking to 5-peat."

He has begun planning his official visits.

"I'm going to Notre Dame on December 6.  I think I might be going to Boston College on November 16, Penn State probably the weekend after the Notre Dame visit, then UCLA the next weekend I think and then I think Stanford on January 10.  These aren't set in stone yet.  The Notre Dame one is, the other ones are possible dates.  I might visit Virginia Tech or someone else."

Wooden's teammate, Victor Abiamiri, is rated by as the 8th best DE prospect in the nation.  Are they planning to attend the same college?

"Not really, if it happens it happens.  It would be awesome, but he's going to make the best decision for him and I'll make the best decision for me."

They will be taking some official visits together.

"I think we're going to Notre Dame and UCLA together.  I'm not sure yet though."

Wooden is a solid student and claims a 3.9 GPA and 1040 SAT score.

He has been to Happy Valley once.

"I've been up to the town.  We had a game up there two years ago, right in State College at the high school there.  It's a great town."

Coach Larry Johnson is recruiting Ambrose for Penn State as an athlete.

"He's a great guy, sounds like a nice person and is truthful from what I know.  I can't wait to see him when I go up there, hopefully.  It'll be a great trip."

Is he sure he will visit PSU?

"I'm not sure yet, most likely I probably will, but who knows.

"It's a good school.  That's what I'm looking for, a good school, good football.  I like the all-around community, college town.  It seems like it's a nice place to be, so we'll see."
