UPDATED: PSU Junior Day Report

The Nittany Lions are preparing to host a variety of prospects in the Class of 2009 this weekend as they hold their first major junior event of the year. Get an update on the juniors expected to visit Happy Valley for the Junior Day event.

Penn State will hold the first of two scheduled Junior Days this Saturday, March 1, with the second planned event taking place Saturday, April 5.

Traditionally, Penn State has taken a focused group approach to their junior day events, which invited smaller groups to provide a more "personal approach" to the vists, as one program observer put it. This tactic is much different than many other schools who may invite several hundred juniors to their events.

During the day the junior prospects in attendance will have the opportunity to take tour the facilties, meet some players, talk with the coaches, perhaps observe some winter conditioning sessions and get a general feel for PSU's program.

Although there are often last minute changes to these events, some of the prospects expected to make the trip to Happy Valley for this Saturday's event include:

Tavon Austin
Mark Brazinski
Andre Civil
Matt Couch
Jordan Hall
Aaron Hayward
Jelani Jenkins
Nick Kindler
Anthony LaLota
Jack Lippert
Sam Longo
Jordan Love
Sean Stanley
Je'Ron Stokes

There are also indications that Pennsylvanian lineman Eric Shrive could make the trip although the event does conflict with the SAT.
