4-Star Back Focusing on 3

The New Jersey running back is rated by TheInsiders.com as a 4-star running back and the 18th best running back prospect in the country. Where does Penn State rank among Young's favorites?

Name: Albert Young
Position: RB, CB
Height: 5'10"
Weight: 205 pounds
40-yard dash: 4.49 (electronically timed at Moorestown HS)
Bench press: 315
School: Moorestown HS, Moorestown, NJ

Albert Young starts at both running back and cornerback for Moorestown.  He gets more playing time on offense since that's where he excels.

"I think I have around 1,400 rushing yards and I have 20 touchdowns," Albert said last Thursday evening.  "I could have more, but my carries are limited.  The game I had over 300 yards, I had 13 carries.  Last game, I had 250 yards on around 11 carries.  The coaches don't really want to run it up too much."

At the time of the interview, Moorestown was 5-1, losing only their first game to Camden Catholic.

Albert is being recruited by several schools to play running back in college.

"The offers that are in writing are Rutgers, Indiana, Temple, Wisconsin and Colorado.  The ones that I could commit to and they would take me are Virginia, Kansas state, I was just talking to Boston College and they're going to offer after they get my grades, Iowa, that's about it for now."

Wisconsin is his current favorite.

"They're my top school.  Wisconsin, Boston College and Penn State (in that order) are the top 3 that I'm really considering real hard.  Miami jumped up in the picture, and I like Syracuse, Iowa and Virginia."

Coach Fran Ganter is recruiting Young for Penn State.

"Penn State said they are going to offer, but I haven't talked to them in a while, like a week or two, so I don't know where they are trying to go.  I'm assuming they're waiting for grades.

"To be honest, it's really right now probably between Wisconsin and Boston College."

Albert has been to Penn State (Blue-White game and Nike camp), but has not yet been to either Wisconsin or Boston College.

"I might go up to BC for the Syracuse game.  That would be an unofficial visit.

"I'm going down to NC State - Florida State in a few weeks."

He has a few official visits set up already.

"I have Wisconsin set up (12/6).  I have Rutgers set up.  I'm saving one for BC and Penn State."

He also has one set up to Virginia in January, but is having second thoughts.

He may take an official visit to Penn State with his friend, Camden Catholic linebacker Joe Kedra, who committed to North Carolina last month.

Is he sure he will take an official visit to Penn State?

"If they come back (call him), I'm trying to set things up.  They haven't called me for the last 2 weeks.  Maybe they couldn't get through because I've been talking to other people.

"It's mainly Wisconsin and BC.  They are the schools that are really up-front with me and tell me what they want."
