FOS B-W Weekend In Full Swing

UPDATED: See what is already happening around FOS' events that have included Michael Robinson, Kim Herring, Derrick Williams and more. Check in with FightOnState.com this weekend, whether or not you are heading to Happy Valley. Say hello to staffers and former Penn State players.

UPDATED: FOS CHATCAST The FOS ChatCast featured visits from former Lions like Michael Robinson, Kim Herring, Matt Rice, Paul Cronin, Rick Sayles and Chris Ganter. Derrick Williams and Anthony Scirrotto even stopped by to say hello to the crowd and listeners.

Rice is in town promoting his rapidly growing art business, Mateo Blu. Robinson, the running back for the San Francisco 49ers, has a new business of his own: Excell, a marketing firm. Rice and Robinson chatted with the staff and spent time signing autographs for fans.

Former PSU quarterback Chris Ganter, whose new venture — Go2Athlete.com — is helping former Penn State athletes find jobs in the real world, and former Lion defensive back Paul Cronin of BlueLineImages.com both stopped by, too.

Sayles talked up Penn's Civilians, which is holding a fund-raising dinner Friday night. FOS will present two awards at the dinner.

The usual suspects were involved in hosting the show: Mark Brennan, Tom McLaughlin, Jeff Byers, Lou Prato and Pat Boland. The guys had a blast at the event held at Old State Clothing, talking to the former players, fielding questions from FOS' Premium Chat and playing to the crowd of fans gathered.

Right after the Chatcast ended, Penn State Class of 2009 verbal Ty Howle and his dad stopped by to talk to the FOS staff.

UPLIFTING ATHLETES' DUNK TANK

Where & When: Uplifting Athletes' Dunk Tank in the stage area near Beaver Stadium (across from the Jordan Center), from 3 p.m. to 7:15 p.m. Friday. Pre-game Saturday.

Derrick Williams, dunk you very much!

What: We are happy to continue our partnership with Penn State's Chapter of Uplifting Athletes. UA, which runs the Lift For Life Challenge every summer to raise money and awareness for the fight against kidney cancer, will have a dunk tank in the stage area off Curtin Road near Beaver Stadium Friday to raise even more money for the cause.

We strongly encourage Penn State fans to show up and try to dunk a wide variety of CURRENT Nittany Lions. Among those scheduled to take the plunge are Derrick Williams, Jordan Norwood, Anthony Scirrotto, and quarterbacks Daryll Clark and Pat Devlin.

We'll have a booth in the area that evening, so stop by and say hello.

Note that the players will take a break from 4 p.m. to 5 p.m. so they can attend a squad meeting.

Former players will be manning the dunk Saturday morning before the Blue-White Game, so be sure to stop by to splash around.

FOS BOOTH

Where & When: FOS Booth in the stage area near Beaver Stadium, from 10 a.m. until kickoff Saturday.

The Lion has been known to attend.

What: Several staffers, including recruiting reporter Cory James, Brennan and McLaughlin, will be there. We will be talking Penn State football, handing out rosters and free magazines, and generally having a good time.

Matt Rice and Michael Robinson are scheduled to stop by, as well.
