Dan is beginning the process of setting up his official visits.
"I set up one to Penn State on December 13," Mazan said. "I haven't decided which other ones I'm going to set up, but I'm looking at Ohio State, Nebraska, Florida State, Florida, Boston College, Maryland and maybe Rutgers.
"From 37 schools to 10 to 8, it gets harder and harder every time.
"I'm almost sure I'm going to visit Nebraska, I grew up watching Nebraska, and I'm almost sure I'll visit Ohio State. The other ones are toss-ups. I'm looking to set them up withing the month."
According to Dan, all his favorites have offered him a scholarship.
"Nebraska called maybe two weeks ago and said they were going to offer."
Dan explained how the Huskers coaching staff originally got a video second-hand which had less than two minutes of highlights of him but didn't like it. When he and his coach realized that it was not the nearly 45-minute tape they sent out to many schools, they forwarded a copy. Nebraska was obviously impressed.
"I wanted to go out and visit them, but they haven't called me in a long time. They haven't been mailing me stuff or anything, so I don't know what's up with that."
Mazan is obviously very high on the Nittany Lions.
"I wasn't thinking about Penn State, but then when I went up there for the Nebraska game, it changed my mind completely."
Is there a chance he could commit to a school early?
"I want to take my visits. There's no sense in throwing away free visits to colleges. It doesn't make any sense."
He is not yet feeling pressure from any schools.
"No, especially Penn State, they just want me to have fun and have a nice time."
Although college coaching staffs are not putting the pressure on, there seem to be plenty of Penn State fans in his neck of the woods.
"Penn State is big over here. Almost all the kids on my football team are Penn State fans. Around here it's all Penn State. My priest graduated from there. Everyone's Penn State over here, my coach, my bishop."
Dan may take in the Penn State game verses Michigan State next week if his team (7-1) gets ousted early from the playoffs.
The Nittany Lion coaching staff is apparently very high on the Jersey lineman.
"They said they're looking to bring in two big time linemen that could have an impact next year, get a little playing time next year.
"They said they want me to be one of them, to come in and have a chance to play my freshman year."
"I'll probably play guard, but they said they don't care how tall you are, you don't have to be 6'6" to play tackle. They're putting the best 5 guys out there.
"If I'm the third guard, but I could be the 1st or 2nd center, they said they'll put me at center. They just want the best guys out there and the best opportunity for you to play."
Miscellaneous note: Dan recently got ordained as a deacon at his church.
