  • Tight end Andrew Quarless was at the event today, taking guys through and keeping score. He indicated his back is sore, so he is not participating in the event.

  • A.Q. Shipley put up an impressive 30 reps on 225-pound bench-press station. Josh Gaines answered shortly after with reps of his own on the bench. For those curious, the bench-press station is mid-way through the event.

  • Eric Shrive said Justin Brown was in meeting with Paterno. Brown came through Lift For Life with Coach Vanderlinden and his family and looked to be having a good time.

  • Navorro Bowman said as far as he knows he is completely back on the team now.

  • Freshman Mike Zordich is wearing No. 31. FOS talked to him about wearing such a coveted number, stay tuned.

  • Jerome Hayes said he could have competed today, but the staff is being cautious with him.

  • Devon Still is same boat as Hayes, and could have competed, but he is taking it easy and taking guys through today and scoring them.

  • Several football alumni are there including Tim Shaw, Terrell Golden, Matt Rice, Jay Alford and Ed Johnson.

  • Chris Colasanti said he lost his lunch a few times during the event, saying, "It's just what I do."

  • Aaron Maybin is back up to 246-pounds from the mid 230s due to a flu in the spring and his "high metabolism." He's looking and feeling better now.
