The Nittany Lions head into the second clash of the 2008 season, facing off for the first time with Oregon State of the Pac-10. With Abe Koroma and Maurice Evans out, many will be focused on how Coach Johnson's defensive line rotation shakes out.

FIRST QUARTER

Penn State won the toss and deferred. Oregon State came out passing and got snuffed out by the PSU defense, going three and out.

Penn State mounted a good drive on the arm and legs of Clark. With Clark making some key tosses to Norwood and Shuler. Royster put the scoreboard operation in action with a 15-yard touchdown run.

On the ensuing drive PSU forced another three and out by the Beavers.

Clark continued his balanced attack with a big 24-yard scramble. Williams got into the action on a 15-yard end-around. The drive was closed out with a 5-yard touchdown toss to TE Mickey Shuler.

SECOND QUARTER

After swapping punts, Josh Gaines started to unload on the Oregon State offense, pulling down some big plays and breaking up a key third down pass. On the punt Stupar took advantage of a botched snap giving PSU good field position.

Royster took advantage breaking open a 28-yard run and the score.

On PSU's next drive Clark hit a wide-open Williams for a 20-yard pickup and nearly had a touchdown if not for a step out of bounds. On the next play Royster ran wide with a few shifts coasting to a 4-yard touchdown.

OSU finally woke up and put together a grinding drive to put points on the board.

The Lions march back on a 78-yard drive with a key third down run by Clark and cap the drive with a 22-yard touchdown pass to Norwood.

THIRD QUARTER

On the opening drive PSU kept up the pace, with Royster making some tough runs, but Royster fumbled on the 1-yard line.

Oregon State went to the ground and started to mount a drive. On fourth down the Beavers went for it to continue the drive, but Scirrotto nearly picked off the telegraphed pass, snuffing out the drive.

The next drive was a continuation of the Jordan Norwood show, catching some clutch passes, but it was Clark who ran for an 18-yard touchdown run on a draw.

The next drive ended in further OSU frustration as Hull intercepted a pass, giving PSU another major field position victory.

Kelly booted his first field goal of the game.

FOURTH QUARTER

OSU managed to eek out another touchdown, continuing to try to play tough in the face of a blowout.
