PURDUE: PSU Gets Scrappy 20-6 Win

Get a recap, stas, rundown of big plays and more from Penn State's road victory over the Boilermakers.

WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. — No. 6 Penn State is at Purdue Saturday, looking to improve to 6-0 on the season. We'll have updates here before, during and after the game.

• Nittany Lion receiver Jordan Norwood, who missed last week's win over Ilinois with a hamstring injury, is warming up and appears as if he's ready to play.

• Penn State coach Joe Paterno, still dealing with a sore right knee, went out on the field before the game but was moving very slowly. There is a golf cart right outside of the PSU locker room, presumably on the ready to get Paterno to the press box elevator.

• Paterno just got off the press box elevator and will be coaching from upstairs.

Penn State snuffed out Purdue's initial drive thanks to a swarming defensive effort. On the next drive PSU was shut down on third and short.

On the next drive, after some Boiler success, PSU snuffed things out on a coverage sack of Curtis Painter on third and short.

Penn State had another drive snuffed out, giving Purdue a short field on the ensuing punt.

Norwood did not play. It was obvious he was being held out of action.

Purdue missed a field goal wide right. Penn State finally woke up on its next drive, marching 70 yards and scoring on a 1-yard sneak by Daryll Clark.

On a third-and-17, Clark hit Deon Butler on an Engram-esque toe-drag sideline grab. On the next snap Royster got into the end zone on a 4-yard touchdown scamper.

Penn State got the ball back and unleashed Stephfon Green, who ripped up multiple big runs. But the Lions were forced to punt again, pinning Purdue inside the 10.

Although Purdue was "one big play away from making it a two possession game," according to the talking heads, Drew Astorino dashed those hopes with a big interception and return.

Penn State got down to the Boilers' goal line, running an option toss, but Williams again slipped. Kelly booted the field goal.
