OSU: Report Card

See who made the grade and who failed in Penn State's streak-busting win at Ohio State Saturday night.

COLUMBUS, Ohio — Penn State-Ohio State report card:

OVERALL: Who would have believed Penn State would not need its a game to beat Ohio State on the road?
Grade: B

OFFENSE: Just never seemed to click. But kudos for taking advantage when the defense provided an opportunity
Grade: C+

DEFENSE: Bottom line is this unit held the Buckeyes to six points in their own house and completely shut down the OSU running game. Can't say we saw that coming.
Grade: A

SPECIAL TEAMS: Punting very good. Kickoff coverage not so good. Kevin Kelly's missed 45-yarder in a pressure situation is cause for concern. But nice to see him respond with a clutch 35-yarder.
Grade: B-

COACHING: Difficult to blame any off the on-field issues on the coaches. Seemed like more a problem with lack of execution.
Grade: B

INTANGIBLES: Give Penn State credit for making the money plays when the game was on the line.
Grade: A

OTHER GUY: Buckeye defense came to play. But the offense was even more erratic than Penn State's.
Grade: B-

OFFICIALS: Some weird spots and a long delay on Pat Devlin's touchdown plunge.
Grade: C+

CROWD: The largest crowd in Ohio Stadium history (105,711) was loud but never did take Penn State out of its game.
Grade: B+
