PSU PLAYBOOK: Wildcat Formation

Check out our breakdown of a Derrick Williams short-gainer that came close to going for big yardage against Iowa.

Penn State unveiled its "Wildcat" formation at Iowa last weekend. In the set, quarterback Daryll Clark splits out wide and athlete Derrick Williams takes over at QB, in the shotgun.

The formation worked well overall, generating a touchdown run by Williams and a pass completion from Williams to tight end Mickey Shuler.

Penn State also just missed a big-gainer out of the set in the second quarter, thanks to a great hustle play by an Iowa defensive back.

We break down the formation and that specific play in this edition of the PSU Playbook.
