OVERALL: We're sure we could find a few nits to pick. But after that rousing performance, why bother?
Grade: A+

OFFENSE: Penn State staff obviously did a great job of scouting Michigan State, going against conventional wisdom to dominate the Spartans via the pass.
Grade: A+

DEFENSE: Javon Ringer was thrown for a 2-yard loss on MSU's first offensive play. Great tone-setting and Tom Bradley's crew never let up.
Grade: A+

SPECIAL TEAMS: The Lions were a bit shaky on kickoff coverage and did not get much out of the return game.
Grade: B+

COACHING: With all the rumors swirling about this being Joe Paterno's final home game (he said it was not), the staff did a great job of staying focused on the task at hand.
Grade: A+

INTANGIBLES: Penn State officially owns Michigan State in LGT games at Beaver Stadium.
Grade: A+

OTHER GUY: We expected more out of Sparty this time around. We're anxious to see if MSU bounces back in a bowl.
Grade: D-

OFFICIALS: Nothing crazy (for once) out of Dick Witvoet's crew.
Grade: A

CROWD: Braved nasty conditions to be a part of a huge win.
Grade: A
