Tackle Exercising Patience

Dan Pribula, a huge offensive tackle from Strongsville, Ohio, has family ties to Penn State. How interested is he in Penn State and how interested is the Nittany Lion coaching staff in him?

Name: Dan Pribula
Position: OL
Height: 6'6"
Weight: 320 pounds
40-yard dash: 5.1
Max Bench Press: 340 pounds
School: Strongsville High School, Strongsville, OH

Dan travelled to Syracuse for a track visit on December 6.  He has only one more official visit set at this time.

"I have Penn State on the 24th," Dan said Monday evening.  "I had Notre Dame set up, but I don't have a scholarship anymore.  They're all filled (at the O-Line position).  So, I'm not sure what else I'm going to do.  I called them because I wanted to confirm my visit and that's when they told me."

Penn State has remained in touch with him although a scholarship offer has not yet been extended.  Jay Paterno called him just before the holiday break.

"We were just talking about the visit and stuff.  He kind of hinted towards something, but he didn't come out and say.  He just said that they need another o-lineman, that they're looking at me and it looks good."

Who else might he visit?

"Maybe Tennessee."

Does he have an offer from the Vols?

"No, but they said it would be there if I wanted it."

Currently, he is considering Penn State, Tennessee and Syracuse.

"Actually, Notre Dame is talking to me for track, so if you want to throw them in there you can.  With that, I might end up doing both, but I'm not sure yet."

Dan does not claim any favorite at this time.

The home-state Buckeyes have not recently been in touch.
