Get a quick look at a few updates to the depth charts we revealed as spring ball was starting. We have news about a linebacker, the fullbacks and the safeties.

Penn State has its second day of spring practice Friday. Here are a few updates to the preliminary depth charts we revealed earlier this week.

  • We have gotten many questions about Michael Zordich. He is currently at linebacker, which is a bit of surprise. With the graduation of Dan Lawlor, many felt Zordich would be making the move to fullback, where he had some work last preseason before moving back to LB. But instead, as of Thursday, he was still at linebacker. "He's doing well, but the 'backer depth of this team is just unreal," one observer said. Zordich is seeing third- and second-team reps.

  • With Zordich staying put, former linebacker Shaine Thompson has been shipped to fullback. Thompson was listed as a third-team outside linebacker last season and is now with the fullbacks. He is filling out the position along with Joe Suhey and Larry Federoff.

  • An error on our first defensive deptch chart had Andrew Dailey running second team to Nick Sukay at strong safety. We've been told Dailey actually began as the first-teamer, with Sukay getting mostly second-team reps.

  • We have also gotten many questions about true freshman safety Gerald Hodges, and where he stands on the depth chart. We've been told Hodges has been ill, possibly with mono. We will update as news becomes available.

  • A quick note on Wednesday's opening practice: "They had a good first practice. Some good energy. A couple guys came out flat, but on the whole the squad had a nice start," one observer said. is THE source for original, exclusive, inside coverage of Penn State football.
