"I'm probably going to verbal."

Matt Dicken, a RB/DB prospect from Lower Cape May, New Jersey, is very close to making a verbal commitment to his current favorite. Are the Nittany Lions involved with Matt?

Name: Matt Dicken
Position: RB, DB
Height: 5'11"
Weight: 185 pounds
40-yard dash: 4.4
Max Bench Press: 330 pounds
School: Lower Cape May Regional HS, Cape May, NJ

Matt played running back, defensive back and linebacker for Lower Cape May this past season.  He finished the year with 211 carries for 1,778 yards (8.4 yards per carry) and 16 touchdowns.  On defense, he totalled approximately 60 tackles.

At this time, Matt has only one official visit set up, to Villanova on January 10.  The Wildcats are the only team to have offered Dicken a scholarship.  They are recruiting him to play running back.

Richmond is also recruiting him to play running back while other such as Wisconsin and Michigan State have expressed interest in him playing in the defensive backfield.

Indiana, Purdue, Iowa, Connecticut, New Hampshire, Syracuse, West Virginia, Virginia, South Carolina and Penn State have also shown interest in Dicken.

In November, Matt told TheInsiders that Penn State and Virginia had renewed interest in him.  Those two, however, have not been in contact with him recently.

"Penn State said that they had a 5th year senior coming back to play safety, so they're probably not going to have a scholarship for me, but if something comes through at the end, they're going to give me a call," Matt said Tuesday afternoon.

"I'll probably set up a visit to Richmond.  I'm not sure when yet.  I'm waiting for a phone call sometime this week."

Is there a chance he could commit to Villanova during his official visit?

"Yeah, I'm going to probably verbal."

What does he like about Villanova?

"Just about everything: academics, they have a great football team, it's convenient, close to home.  It's a nice campus.  I've been there 3 or 4 years in a row for their summer camp.  I've been there probably 7-10 times."
