Scout's No. 1 nationally ranked running back Marcus Lattimore has being indicating a strong interest in Penn State recently. When asked what is driving the interest Lattimore explained, "I am interested in Penn State because I followed them last season and I know they run the ball a lot."

Lattimore also has had additional exposure to the Nittany Lions, saying, "My best friend, our wide receiver Nick Jones, has also been a Penn State fan as long as I can remember, so he and I talk about them. I think they (Penn State) are about to offer him too. We are planning on going up there this summer for their football camp, so I can take a look at them then. I want to get up there for the Ohio State game for an official visit as well if things go well during the summer visit."

Lattimore also discussed his the timing and process around his recruitment, saying, "I am planning on narrowing it down to six schools by the end of the summer. I don't know when I will make a decision. I have thought about during the Army All American game or on National Signing Day."
