"No sir," Rodney said when asked if he made a verbal commitment to Clemson this past weekend during his official visit as had been reported. "I didn't even mention the word commitment up there."
Redshirt freshman running back Tye Hill was his host at Clemson. How was the visit?
"It was okay. It was pretty much what I expected. I learned a lot from the academic standpoint, that's what I was mostly asking questions about. That was pretty good because I was interested in Communications and then they kind of turned me to Marketing because they're basically the same thing, but you can go into more fields with a Marketing degree."
Kinlaw, of course, got the opportunity to talk to the coaching staff.
"I talked to a ton of them. Coach Bowden was just saying that he needed running backs and everything like that and it would be good if I came there. That was basically it."
Did Clemson move up or down on his list as a result of the visit?
"They're pretty much the same right now."
Rodney plans on taking the rest of his official visits. He and his parents will make the trip to Penn State this weekend for an official visit.
"I talked to them (PSU) around the time of the bowl game. They were just making sure I was coming up for the visit and that the date was right."
Kinlaw knows Nittany Lion wide-receiver Kinta Palmer and the two have kept in touch.
"He was down here last week and we talked."
