FOS AUDIO: Curtis Drake

Multiple threat quarterback Curtis Drake expects big things from his Pennsylvania team at the Big 33 Classic Saturday. Find out what he had to say about the Classic, Penn State and recruiting in this edition of FOS Audio.

HERSHEY, Pa. — Recruited as an athlete to Penn State, Curtis Drake of West Catholic High in Philadelphia will find plenty of ways to get on the field in the Big 33 Classic.

Slotted as one of two quarterbacks on the Pennsylvania team, Drake has also run many patterns as a slot receiver, and he looks the part.

"I'm definitely playing quarterback, but I want to get as many reps as I can," says Drake, who is clearly putting all his effort into the Big 33.

Drake hopes to catch on early at Penn State, where a lack of depth in the secondary could lead to opportunity for a hard worker. Or, as he pointed out to FOS, "They only have two scholarship quarterbacks there now, so you never know." He could also play receiver.

For those keeping track, Drake certainly fits into the mold of athletic quarterbacks who have enjoyed success for the Nittany Lions in recent years. As a senior, he compiled more than 3,000 yards (passing and rushing) and posted nearly 40 touchdowns.
