Tony has one official visit remaining, to Penn State on the 24th. He will not take his scheduled visit to Virginia this weekend.
"Yeah, he cancelled it," Aaron Hunt, Tony's father said Thursday night. "He's not interested in going there. Instead of wasting time, he said he'd rather cancel it.
"He talked to Coach Friedgen and Coach Seamonson today. They came up to the school and we discussed the possibility of him going to Maryland. We spoke with them from about 3:00 to 4:20."
Has Mr. Hunt had the chance yet to meet with any of the other head coaches?
"Of course I met the people at USC, but he told me he's not interested in going there now. Joe Paterno is supposed to come down next week I think. I believe he's supposed to speak to the students at the school too. We have to video all that and get JoePa on camera."
What happened with USC?
"I think the main thing with USC is distance. The universities here have the same things to offer that they have to offer."
According to Aaron Hunt, Tony will take his scheduled official visit to Penn State. That will more than likely be his last visit.
"I just told him, after you come back from Penn State, sit down, take 3 or 4 days, we're not talking to any more recruiters or reporters, weigh your options, make your choice and announce your decision."
Does Tony have a favorite?
"Like Coach Seamonson said, he doesn't show his hand. He'd be a good poker player. I'm his father and I don't even know where he's leaning."
Tony has already taken official visits to USC, Michigan and Maryland. His father accompanied him on the USC and Maryland trips.
