Bednarik Award Watching Three Lions

Three Nittany Lions have been named to the 2009 Bednarik Award watch list. Junior LB Navorro Bowman, senior DT Jared Odrick and senior LB Sean Lee are all candidates for the award, given to the nation's top defensive player.

Penn State joins Oklahoma and UCLA as the only programs with three candidates on the Bednarik's watch list.

Linebacker U. has a deep tradition with the Bednarick Award, leading the nation with four winners. Dan Connor was honored with it in 2007, Paul Posluszny became the just the second-time two-time winner in 2005 and 2006 and LaVar Arrington also won the award in 1999.
