FOS is teaming with former Nittany Lion All-Big Ten tackle Keith Conlin and The Lion's Den to present the event, which will kick off at 6 p.m. and run at least through 9 p.m. The Den is located at 118 South Garner Street in downtown State College.
As we announced earlier this week, this is a chance for Penn State fans to talk football and enjoy the company of former Nittany Lion players, FOS staffers and other fans. Conlin, a starter on State's unbeaten 1994 team, will serve as host.
The crew will be able to enjoy great drink specials and a new menu of pub grub while at The Den, one of the venerable night spots in Happy Valley.
Available in addition to the standard menu this week will be three special sandwiches — pulled pork, sausage and homemade meatball. Conlin volunteered to sample all three on behalf of all Penn State fans, and heartily endorsed each with the Goon stamp of approval.
Also featured will by $1 Bud Light drafts.
The Den has undergone significant renovations in recent years, and now features banks of high-definition, flat-screen TVs. New this year is a menu of pub grub favorites, including a variety of sandwiches and appetizers. There is also an outdoor seating area.
But the qualities that have drawn so many customers down though the decades a great environment in which to socialize and the best drink specials in town remain.
The FOS Friday Football Tailgate will be held every Penn State home football Friday, and will run from 6 p.m. until at least 9 p.m.
We look forward to seeing you there!
