PSU fans gotta love Penn State's efficiency on both Offense and Defense in this game. Saturday they proved to be a very balanced team. Special Teams looked better and Collin Wagner may have silenced some of his doubters, at least for now with a career long 47-yard field goal and a couple touch backs.
The combination of A.J. Wallace and Navarro Bowman on a fourth and goal early in the fourth quarter. Jerome Hayes did an excellent job of taking up two blockers which allowed Wallace to get free and string out the play. That play just about summed of the day for the Nittany Lions.
Player of the Game
Between Derek Moye and A.J. Wallace, it was close, but I'm going with A.J. Wallace in thiso ne. Shutting down arguably the best receiver in the Big Ten in Decker and climbing his way out of Coach Paterno's dog house is no easy task.
What I Liked
Zero turnovers in that weather is tough to accomplish, ball security was key in sustaining Penn State's long drives and keep Minnesota's Offense cold on the sideline.
What I Didn't Like
Too many penalties this week. Penn State had an uncharacteristic amount of penalties, luckily they were able to show there resiliency and overcome them, that won't always be the case however.
Did You Notice?
I have always been a fan of Brandon Beachum's running style, hopefully Green's injury is nothing serious, but if he misses any time I think Beachum will do an excellent job filling in and bringing a little different dimension to the backfield.
And Another Thing
Penn State playing the Big House is never a walk in the park, The Lions need to put to rest the last couple of nightmarish visits to Ann Arbor.
