Lions Land a Shooting Guard

Athletic York product prepped in Connecticut last season. Penn State has two scholarships remaining for the spring signing period.

Penn State has received a verbal commitment from York (Pa.) shooting guard Tré Bowman. Bowman visited campus over the weekend and committed to Nittany Lion head coach Ed DeChellis Monday.

He announced the commitment on his Facebook page.

Bowman averaged 22 points per game as a senior at Central York High, making 57 percent of his shots from the field. He is a high-riser who can also score from the arc. He was listed at 6-foot-3 that year.

He spent last season at St. Thomas More Prep in Oakdale, Conn., where he was among the leading scorers on the school's postgraduate team. Bowman is now listed at 6-4.

The late-signing period for college basketball starts next month. DeChellis has two more scholarships available for the class that will enroll this summer.
