Dyer Joins FOS, Scout Teams

Recruiting reporter comes on board after previously working at ESPN.com and SportsIllustrated.com. His primary focus will be on providing Penn State recruiting coverage, and in doing so complementing the work of Cory James and Scout's regional experts.

Fight On State is pleased to announce the addition of recruiting analyst Kristian Dyer to our team.

Dyer, who comes to FOS and the Scout network after stints at ESPN.com and, most recently, SportIllustrated.com, has been tasked with writing multiple recruiting updates per week.

“This is great news for our subscribers,” FOS editor and publisher Mark Brennan said. “In the past, we did a strong job of breaking commitments and, through staffer Cory James and the Scout regional experts, providing timely recruiting information in our premium forum. But we probably came up a bit short in offering front-page, editorial recruiting coverage. With Krisitian on board, that has changed for the better.”

Dyer began writing for FOS and Scout last week. As he gets up to speed, he will also contribute on the forums, in premium chats and in FOS The Magazine.

James, who has been with FOS since 2006, remainins an important part of the staff and will continue to focus most of his energy on providing Instant Updates in the TAP Forum and conducting recruiting chats.

The Scout regional recruiting experts, particularly Bob Lichtenfels and Matt Alkire, will still be key elements of our site, too. And of course, other experts from across the Scout network, like Allen Trieu, Miller Safrit, Scott Kennedy, Allen Wallace and John Wallpher, will continue to stop by the TAP Forum to lend their insight.

Dyer is a graduate of Montclair State University. He began writing for ESPN.com in 2005, covering a variety of sports and doing enterprise work. In 2009, he moved on to SportIllustrated.com, where he covered college football recruiting and broke more than a dozen major verbal commitments.

He also covers college and pro football for Metro New York, a daily paper with a circulation of more than 200,000.

“Kristian obviously brings strong reporting and writing skills to the table,” Brennan said. “But it is every bit as important to us that he provide balanced coverage of Penn State recruiting to FOS and the Scout network. We pride ourselves on being THE place to come for independent coverage of Penn State football, and a professional like Kristian will help us continue our mission.”
