Grant has already visited Penn State, he says, this past May. He was impressed by the campus and the facilities.
"I like the program-they're Joe Paterno baby," Grant told FightOnState.com. "But I need to see more of them, see if they make my final five schools that I'm considering."
Currently, Grant says that he has no leader but that of all the schools that are after him, UNC sticks out the most in his mind. He plans to announce his decision either after the season or during the Under Armour All America Game in January.
Grant said that Ohio State and Michigan State will definitely receive official visits from him. The final two visits will be whittled down from Georgia Tech, Penn State, UNC and USC. If he makes an official visit to State College, he wants to go on a gameday weekend so as to experience Beaver Stadium and the crowd.
Recently, Grant participated in Gridiron Kings in central Florida. While he doesn't have any interest in any Florida schools, Grant said he wanted to go down to the competition to test himself against the best. He says he can recall only one ball being caught by a player who he was covering throughout all the one-on-one drills.
"I feel like I did really well, it was deep there – a lot of talent," Grant said. "I think I showed that I can play at that level."
As far as his feelings for the Buckeyes go, Grant is diplomatic but firm in his decision making process:
"They're a great school but I need to see if they're right for me," Grant said. "If they're not right for me, or if anywhere isn't right for me, I won't be going there just because people think I should."
