Penn State's Drake Sustains Leg Injury

Team sources say fracture will knock the Nittany Lion sophomore wideout out of action for six to eight weeks.

Fight On State has received an alert on the first serious injury out of Penn State's preseason camp.

Sources have told's Matt Alkire that sophomore receiver Curtis Drake sustained a broken leg in Monday's practice. The injury happened in a non-contact drill, the sources said.

The sources indicated that Drake is expected to miss six to eight weeks of action while recovering from the injury.

Drake had eight catches for 98 yards as a true freshman. But he became a primary target for the offense late in the season, when he caught five passes for 68 yards in the final three games. He also threw a touchdown pass in the regular-season finale against Michigan State.
