FOS Friday Night Tailgate Returns

Join former Nittany Lion Keith Conlin and company to get geared up for the Penn State football team's bounce-back game against Kent State.

The Friday Tailgate at the Lion's Den was the hot new Penn State football weekend event in Happy Valley last season. Scores of fans, former players and media types attended throughout the year.

We had so much fun in 2009 that we are teaming up with The Den again this season, with the triumphant return of the FOS Friday Tailgate.

Here is what you need to know:

Former PSU All-Big Ten tackle Keith “Goon” Conlin is host of the Tailgate, which starts at 6 p.m. and goes until 9 p.m. and beyond. Also on hand are FOS staffers (including Mark Brennan) and other media types.

Former players who attended before the Youngstown State game included Brian Gelzheiser, Scott Paxson and Gerald Cadogan.

It is a casual atmosphere where FOS community members, former players and reporters have a chance to talk Penn State football and more while enjoying a few beverages.

A key part of it all is The Den, which has great drink and pub grub specials, as well as banks of hi-def TVs on which to watch all of the latest sporting events. And we would be remiss if we did not mention the best bar staff in State College.

It is easy to get to at 118 South Garner Street in downtown State College (as if you didn't already know where it was).

So be sure to add the FOS Friday Tailgate to your calendar of events for every Penn State home football weekend.

Who will show up this week? Rest assured, Goon will be there. So will Brennan. But you'll never know who will be joining them unless you stop by, too.

So head down to the Den Friday to get ready for the second Penn State home game of the season.
