Breaking News - Statement from Marc Boehm
"Any discussions Ben Howland may have had with UCLA this past weekend were undertaken without the permission of the University of Pittsburgh and we cannot comment on them. However, Coach Howland has a contract with the University of Pittsburgh through 2009. He has consistently stated that he plans to honor that contract and we hope that will be the case. We believe that in terms of players, performance, facilities, and fans, there are few places in America that compare to the University of Pittsburgh. The university has consistently provided high levels of support and appropriate financial rewards for the basketball coaching staff and program, and will continue to do that in the future."
