Meet The Huskies

With a lot of the pre-game talk centered on UConn guard Kemba Walker, the Huskies do have other players on its roster. UConn relies heavily on its freshman class which has already played in some big games, and has gotten comfortable with each win.

Donnell Beverly (G, 6-4, 190)
- senior guard with 80 career games played in
- has played in all 10 games this season, coming off the bench with 2.6 points and 2.3 rebounds a game
- season-high seven points against UMBC (12/3) and season-high five assists and career-high two blocks against Fairleigh Dickinson (12/8)

Charles Okwandu (C, 7-0, 255)
- another seven-foot center for the Huskies as we've seen in years past
- has 11 of his 15 blocked shots in the last five games
- averages 2.0 rebounds and 1.5 blocks a game in just 11.4 minutes

Kemba Walker (G, 6-1, 172)
- second nationally with 26.5 points a game
- has averaged 13.5 points, 4.0 rebounds and 4.0 assists in 80 career games
- has scored 20 or more points in nine consecutive games; the third-longest streak in UConn history

Jamal Coombs-McDaniel (F, 6-7, 210)
- averages 5.1 points and 3.4 rebounds a game
- season-high 10 points against UMBC (12/3)
- made one career start, against Vermont earlier this year

Alex Oriakhi (F/C, 6-9, 240)
- averages 11.3 points a game, and 9.9 rebounds a game--second among all Big East players
- has started all 10 games this season
- career-high 18 points against then No. 9 Kentucky (11/24) earlier this year; previous career-high of 15 points the day earlier against then No. 2 Michigan State

Niels Giffey (G/F, 6-7, 210)
- true freshman from Berlin, Germany who has played in all 10 games, with five starts
- averages 5.2 points and 1.9 rebounds in 17.3 minutes of work per game
- scored 14 points, including two three-pointers in the win over Kentucky (11/24) earlier this season

Jeremy Lamb (G/F, 6-5, 185)
- another member of Uconn's heralded freshman class
- has started all 10 games this season
- leads all UConn freshmen with 7.9 points and 4.9 rebounds a game

Shabazz Napier (G, 6-0, 170)
- has appeared in all 10 games this season, averaging 22.9 minutes a game
- has hit double-figures twice this season, including a season-high 12 points twice
- 2.1 steals a game ranks second among all Big East players

Tyler Olander (F, 6-9, 225)
- true freshman has appeared in all 10 games with four starts this season
- averages 2.3 points and 3.3 rebounds on the season
- recorded a career-high seven points and seven assists against Harvard (12/22)

Roscoe Smith (F, 6-8, 205)
- has played in all 10 games with four starts in his true freshman season
- averaged 7.4 points, 5.9 rebounds and 2.0 blocks on the season
- recorded his first double-double against Fairleigh Dickinson (12/8), just his second start

Enosch Wolf (C, 7-1, 260)
- possible replacement for Okwandy after he graduates this season
- has appeared in both games this season since joining the team just before its game with Coppin State last Monday
- averaging eight minutes in just two games
