With signing day closing in, a lot of high school prospects and junior-college prospects are closing in on some schools. Rod Baltimore, a 6-1, 305-pound defensive tackle, is one of those junior-college prospects looking to narrow his list of schools after spending this extra semester at Lackawanna College in Scranton, Pa.
"I redshirted my first season, then played another season," Baltimore said. "I'm actually done. I came back for another semester, then everything will be good academically."
This past season at defensive tackle, Baltimore finished with 20 tackles and three sacks. All schools are recruiting him for defensive line. There has been some interest from Akron, but there are a lot of FCS schools that have already extended offers.
"I have a couple offers; one from Duquesne, one from Central Connecticut State," Baltimore said. "Eastern Illinois didn't offer (yet). I've also been talking to Norfolk State and Morgan State."
Baltimore added that he's had a little contact with Akron, but no talk yet in terms of offers. He does feel in the next two weeks, he will know where he will be attending school and playing football at.
"Hopefully, but signing day," Baltimore said. I would like to wait for something better, but I'll just see what the vibe is between now and then."
