Official Visit Primer

Just as diverse geographically, the Pitt coaching staff will host another set of prospects this weekend.

BRANDEN JACKSON
- four-star outside linebacker has already taken official visits to Iowa, Oregon, Rutgers and Texas Tech; confirmed to Scout.com this week he would visit Pitt this weekend
- most certainly an outside linebacker prospect in a 3-4 scheme
LAFAYETTE PITTS
- four-star corner from Woodland Hills will follow through with original plan and take official visit to Pitt after committing to Rutgers last weekend
- is being recruited as a corner, but could also be an option at offense; could also provide help in the return game
MICHAEL EUBANK
- four-star quarterback out of Corona (CA) Centennial informed Scout.com this week he would take an official visit to Pitt this weekend
- had an in-home with Pitt this week
- cancelled a visit to Vanderbilt so he could be in Pittsburgh this weekend
- a soft verbal to Arizona State, will decide on Wednesday between Pitt, Arizona State and Utah
ARTIE ROWELL
- remains committed to Pitt
- one of the few remaining commits from Dave Wannstedt's staff
- will provide immediate help on the offensive line; a viable candidate at center
SAM COLLURA
- the first prospect to verbally commit to the Panthers
- considered other schools such as Miami (FL) for official before deciding on taking his visit to Pitt, and re-affirming his commitment to the Panthers
DOMINIQUE PETTIES
- three-star safety from Oklahoma will decide between Pitt and Arizona after taking his visit to Pitt this weekend

NICHOLAS GRIGSBY
- linebacker from Trotwood-Madison, which is the same school as former Pitt corner Jovani Chappel
- was recruited by new Pitt tight ends coach Tony Dews when Dews was an assistant at Michigan
- most likely an outside linebacker in a 3-4 scheme

JASON FRIMPONG
- 5-10, 185-pound corner from Irving (TX) MacArthur
- initially a Tulsa commit, but turned his focus to Pitt when he heard from Todd Graham's staff at their new school
- is expected to make his college decision after the weekend
DEVIN COOK
- linebacker out of Beaver Falls who recently picked up interest from the Pitt staff this week
- holds offers from five schools, including Pitt
- could commit to the Panthers during his visit

JEREMIAH BRYSON
- the final prospect to give his verbal pledge to the Panthers; committing to Pitt in September
- has opened his recruitment a little, but has said all along that he wants to see Pitt, then decide after the visit
- even more suited for Pitt than he was before, being that Todd Graham's high-octane offense is similar to the offense he had in high school
CORTEZ JOHNSON
- visiting Pitt this week, then will head to Minnesota for an official visit
- has also taken official visits to Arizona, Southern Miss and Louisiana Tech; will head to Minnesota after his visit to Pitt - pending the outcome of his official to Pitt, all schools he has visited have a shot to land him
LLOYD CARRINGTON
- earned all-league honors this past season in just his first year of playing football
- took an official visit to Minnesota earlier this week, and will head straight to Pittsburgh from Minnesota
- despite only one year of football, Carrington estimates 15 offers - told Scout.com earlier this week that he could make a college decision after this weekend, based on the Pitt visit
BRANDON BENDER
- corner informed Scout.com on Friday morning that he would be taking an official visit to Pitt, despite no offer
JEVONTE PITTS
- cousin and teammate of Woodland Hills CB Lafayette Pitts, who could be offered this weekend
